Airlines offer 20 million seats this summer in Malaga, 10.9% more Connections with European markets such as Germany and the Netherlands increase while the United Kingdom remains at the top of the table.

Airlines have offered 20 million seats on almost 110,000 flights at the Malaga-Coa-Coa del Sol airport this summer,st which represents an increase of 10.9% in seats and 11.5% in operations compared to the same period. of 2023.

In the thirty weeks that the airport summer season lasts, which starts on March 31 and ends on October 26, airlines have scheduled 3,244,000 seats within Spain, 9.8% more than those offered last year, as reported this Tuesday by Aena in a statement.

Most of the total seats offered correspond to Europe, with 15.7 million seats (+11.4%) and 83,230 connections (+10.3%).

Connections with the main European markets increase, such as Germany (21.1% more seats and 20.8% more operations), France (0.2% more seats and 2.2% more flights), Countries Bajos (14.3% more places and 11% more movements) and Italy (22.8% more places and 22.9% more operations), among others.

However, the United Kingdom remains the main market for the Málaga-Costa-Costa del Sol airport, with nearly 4.7 million seats and more than 24,500 operations this summer.

By destination, London remains in the lead as the city with the most seats and flights offered by airlines, with almost 2 million seats on more than 10,000 flights. Paris, Barcelona, Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Manchester, Stockholm and Copenhagen complete the ranking of the ten cities with the most seats offered from the Malaga infrastructure.

Aena has extended until March 2027 the incentives for the opening of new routes to new destinations in airportss with more than 3 million passengers, as is the case of Malaga airport.

In the accumulated of January and February, the
Malaga aerodrome has counted 2.7 million travelers (+23.4%) and remains the third in the Aena network in passenger volume, behind those of Madrid and Barcelona.
