The City Council announces the placement of cameras in the San Pedro industrial estate The Marbella City Council announced this Sunday, through a statement, the start of works for the installation of 26 multi-sensor cameras and license plate readers in the San Pedro Alcántara industrial estate. They are added to the video surveillance, which requires judicial authorization, deployed in Plaza de la Libertad, a conflictive area.

This is a well-known project that is 80 percent co-financed by the Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the framework of the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020, with an investment of more than 600,000 euros.

On the one hand, multi-sensor cameras (13) will be installed, in addition to the placement of license plate readers (7) and also the deployment of fiber optics between the local body's facilities and the rest of the municipal facilities.

In addition, two more video sensors and four license plate readers must be added at the entrances to San Pedro Alcántara .

This deployment will be carried out after the placement, within the video surveillance project, with judicial authorization, of three cameras in Plaza de la Libertad, a conflictive point.

Four security cameras were also placed in the Mayor's Office, two on the façade and the same number in the back.

Now, in the industrial estate, they will be located in 14 locations, according to the information provided this Sunday in a statement.

The president of the Conservation Entity, Ramón Pérez, has valued the initiative that is being launched.

“We have been demanding it both for traffic control and for debris and garbage dumping,” he said.
