The City Council of Marbella announces the project that had to be rectified in the dunes The Marbella City Council announced this Sunday that it will undertake the restoration and management project of the Real de Zaragoza dune area in the coming weeks. This is an action that, as this digital advanced, originally presented illegalities that Costass took to court and made the PP government team rectify.

The project covers an area of 123,000 square meters, the largest of the eight areas that make up the Dunas de Marbella Ecological Reserve.

The action will include the execution of piloted walkways and the clearing or elimination of invasive species, limiting pedestrian mobility and vehicular traffic in the area to improve the conservation of the enclave, as well as the use and enjoyment along its entire route.

It is an initiative that will be carried out within the framework of subsidies from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020 and specifically in the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategies (EDUSI). .

The execution of small excavations is also contemplated to improve the fit of the planned actions, which include the construction of an elevated walkway of 0.5 and 1 meters, adapting to the terrain and with a varied slope.

This route will have railings on both sides with a width of 2.5 meters each and a length of 9.60 linear meters.

The space will also have new street furniture in the pergola area, which will include a total of 16 benches, 8 trash cans and three bike racks made of treated wood.

Illegalities

This Sunday, the City Council provided all this information through a statement in which the problems that have existed have not been explained.

As Marbella24horas24horas reported last July, the project presented aspects considered illegal by the Coastal Demarcation for establishing works in areas of public maritime-terrestrial domain.

The warnings that were given to both the Board, which gave the approval, and the City Council were of no use, so the matter ended up in court, which caused them to have to back down.

With the changes introduced under pressure, the action already has the approval of Costass, so it can be carried out.

This is an area close to where the W hotel has been planned for six years and also close to the Leisure Time Residence.
