These are the cheapest and most expensive coastal cities to rent on vacation this summer in Spain

These are the cheapest and most expensive coastal cities to rent on vacation this summer in Spain Renting a house in the main areas of the Spanish coast will be 3% more expensive this summer than in 2019, since although demand is lower due to the fall in foreign tourism, supply has also been restricted because owners want to enjoy of their own properties.

Despite this, the stays requested are longer than on previous occasions, according to the annual report of the appraisal company 'TecniTasa'.

"Many families who had an apartment on the beach and rented it out in July and August to obtain greater profitability now want to enjoy it most of the summer, so the supply is reduced," explained its president, José María Basañez. .

In his opinion, "families do not mind paying a little more and extending the length of their stay, in case there is a resurgence of the coronavirus, they can stay longer teleworking from the beach."

From 'TecniTasa' they also believe that stays will be longer in homes or apartments for which they will pay more, thanks to the fact that less will be spent on leisure due to cancellation of festivals, children's camps or nights out. However, the uncertainty due to COVID-19 is reflected in the contracting of 100% cancellation insurance and greater volatility in both supply and demand.

The Balearic Islands, the most expensive
The 3% increase in the price is applicable to the 750 euros of average weekly rent compared to 2019. Rentals in Menorca, Palma and Ibiza (Balearic Islands), Puerto Banús and Marbella cost almost double that figure on average ( Málaga)), Illa da Toxa and Sanxenxoxenxo (Pontevedra), Sotogrande and Puerto de Santata María (Cádiz), Sitges (Barcelona), Hondarribia and San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa) and Benidorm (Alicante), where the most expensive prices are recorded with rents of over 1,300 euros a week.

Punta Prima in Menorca (2,800 euros per week), Puerto de Alcudia or the Port of Ibiza (2,200 euros) or a 100 square meter house in an exclusive urbanization in La Rápita (2,000 euros) are some of the most exclusive prices.

In Malaga there are also rentals at very high prices, such as in Puerto Banús, where rents are around 2,600 euros or Marbella, where an apartment in the center exceeds 1,750 euros per week with an increase of 10% compared to 2019.

The cheapest rentals on the coast of Lugo
On the other hand, the cheapest rentals are found in Burela and Vicedo (Lugo), El Saler (Valencia), Pontedeume (La Coruña), Motril ((Granada)), and Playa de las Canteras and Puerto de la Cruz (Canary Islands), where you can get stays of between 200 and 380 euros per week.

From 'TecniTasa' they explain that this year due to the coronavirus there have been changes in demand, in search of locations with a lower incidence of the virus and less exposure in public places.

"A factor such as whether the area has been more or less affected by the coronavirus or the need for greater or lesser displacement are this year factors that are taken into account in the destination decision," they indicate in a statement.
